First came LEGO Star Wars, a ground-breaking mash-up of everyone’s favourite space opera and everyone’s favourite Scandinavian building blocks. A sequel followed, before LEGO versions of Indiana Jones and Batman hit our consoles.
Even though they were all quite similar and rapidly becoming rather repetitive, the games all sold well, and many of us expected LEGO to stick with the platform gaming format they had become known for. Well guess what. Many of us were wrong.
Just in time for Christmas 2009, developer Traveller’s Tales will be bringing us LEGO Rock Band on all major console formats. No word yet on whether any LEGO style instruments will be available, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if brightly coloured blocky guitars are the order of the day.
